and after sooooo much time wasted on deliberation and letting my domain and webspace sit around collecting dust, i have FIIIINALLY moved my blog from pinkskyes.tripod.com to quaintly.net :D
tripod was my blog’s home since all the way back in 2001, with the name pinkskyes contributed by an old friend as a substitute for pinkpau.tripod.com (i unfortunately could not log in again to that account cos i forgot the password). it’s kinda odd, thinking how many years it’s been, from the very first layout of white-text-on-black-background with Snocomments till moving into my own domain now :)
when i first started blogging, i was 12 going on 13. the folks on SMU (old forum that has since ceased to exist) suggested getting a blog and so i did. it was fun at the start, just writing whatever i wanted without having to suffer sore fingers — i never was a fan of using pens/pencils — but unfortunately i was such a blog n00b that i never realized until it was too late that people could just surf right into your thoughts with a click of the mouse.
so i kept my URL private, didnt link anyone (omg, the horror i went through when i found out that site trackers exist) and only allowed 10 people to read my blog. it was a looooooong time before i finally went public with my URL, and since then i’ve learned the art of censoring oneself :) though thankfully, i wont have to do that anymore now, with the Password Protected Post feature on Wordpress!
i’ve always wanted to move, ever since i started facing bandwidth problems and insufficient webspace. that, and Blogger.com seriously has sucky features and doesnt allow me to post for days on end sometimes. i’ve had this domain registered for about a year now, and never really got around to moving this blog until yesterday. i thought it’d be nice to move on the 1st of January :)
all credit for this shift goes to Booha and of course, Alvin. Booha helped with the wordpress stuff as well as constantly egged me to move until i finally did, and Alvin was the mastermind behind all the coding and my very cute pink layout. i did nothing :P all i did was pick out the photo of Elisha Cuthbert as seen above!
and i cant believe i’m finally in my own domain!!!!!!!
