  shu : heehee thank you sushi .. :D and i didnt bluff you okay, i didnt really put in THAT much effort compared to some of my batchmates!

  zen : thank you! are you in form4 or form5 this year? form4 this year is fortunate enough to have IT in english (instead of BM) for their syllabus, compared to my batch and this year’s form5. i think IT is actually fairly easy, i never actually took any IT classes, just printed out notes and read on my own, and i didnt do too badly :) so if you can put in the time for reading, yeah why not! literature on the other hand, is slightly tougher if you are unable to think critically and analytically. i would recommend you find a good tutor, and pick up some reference books (CLIFFS NOTES!!!), if you really want to take Lit :) otherwise it’s gonna be a bit difficult. also get practice papers because the one biggest obstacle for me during SPM was finishing the paper on time, cos i never sat for any lit paper prior to the real SPM paper, and so couldnt gauge how much time i should take. all the best!

  artificially : EST is just that, an english paper that’s centred very heavily around science and technology. so you write essays on stuff like volcanoes, astronomy etc. wei haha you think EST easy ah?! a lot of people didnt get straight A’s cos of EST ok! many people got A2 also.

  lalita : thank you!! results were very unexpected and i feel so blessed. as for Lit, no that cycle of texts was the previous one :) i did Romeo & Juliet (/Pygmalion) and Lord of The Flies (/Frankenstein).

  ewe : wei IT was no joke .. haha i thought i was going to get a B cos i completely screwed up some questions. i’m super thankful for my A, even if it’s an A2, cos i was the only one in my class who got an A for IT ! as for lit, yalar i remember when i finished the paper, i almost cried. haha bout scholarships, will apply, but not banking fully on it.

  yeah, initially i thought IT was going to be in bm and because of that, i kinda ruled out IT as an additional subject.
  but then i found out that it is now in english! yay! haha.

  i was wondering if you had to complete any projects for IT?
  and if you know any good literature tutors?

  zen : you have to complete lots of oral presentations, some slideshows, word docs, spreadsheets, websites etc. there are these Ministry of Edu people who will come to your school to check your projects. but MUAHAHHAA i never actually did one single iota of coursework. i dont know how the hell i got away with it also. and yes my lit tutor is really really good .. :) his name’s Mr Chin San Sooi, a well known director/playwright in the Performing Arts circle of KL. he teaches in SS2, Petaling Jaya.

  By the way, about your Lit. teacher.. I wish I knew him! (How did you anyway?) Because I couldn’t find a good teacher (the one since i had in form 4 never, ever really taught us anything, argh, and I was so disappointed that I stopped and studied on my own for a couple of months) until a month before SPM. Lol, and he teaches in SS2? That’s like, a 3 minute drive from where I live!

  emily : you’re from SMK Taman SEA, right? yalor so near to SS2! the centre is like right next to New Paris restaurant. i heard bout him from my aunt who lives in PJ :) about the p/speaking, haha yes it was a very last minute decision to join, and i was very very unsure about it, but after a lot of egging and motivation from my friends, i went for it :) yes will definitely let you know bout the results.
