i’m sure the camera-wielding of you will understand this predicament i seem to have.
hands up, people who have tried taking photos in an LRT (not of yourself ah, i mean of the inside of the LRT and the passengers), and then had like half of the people turn their backs to you, while furtively looking over their shoulder to see why you are taking photos of ‘them’.
… you can almost see the “OMG she stalking me issit?!” thoughtbubble fighting its way out of their hair.
hands up, people who have tried taking photos of your food in restaurants, only to have the diners at neighbouring tables look at you weird (why is that girl taking photos of her food?). or better yet, have the waitressing staff approach you to politely enquire if you’re a food columnist for a local publication?
hands up, people who have tried taking photos of stuff in a store, and then had salespeople come over to tell you “ekskew me ah, miss ah, here is cannot take photo wan!” before they throw you out of their shop?! well okay lah they never throw me out, but they ALWAYS follow me around the store like hawks after that. which is more annoying than being thrown out.
so yeah. phototaking. quite the pain in the ass, right? especially when you want some TIME to compose the perfect shot, and for people to stop looking at you weird while you do it!!!
that’s why my new favourite bookstore is Borders.

(Photo belongs to Berjaya.com.my. Guy in green apron belongs to Starbucks)
cos they allow me to take photos like these :

it was so cool. the readers there just glanced up every once in a while, and no one shushed us or anything! some of the Borders staff saw me jumping up and down and giggling like a maniac from behind the bookshelves, and so a couple of them came over to see what the hell was going on, but when they saw what we were doing they just smiled and left us alone. i was like WAH! MPH would never let me do this!!!
even the grumpy-looking security guards with the empty guns gave me a thumbs up and grinned when i was walking out of the bookstore. wow.
so everybody, ditch your local bookstore and buy your books at Borders. cos they’re cool, and they’ve got this ‘3 books for the price of 2′ promotion going on. how awesome right, if you buy like three hundred books at Borders you can save RM3,290!!! or you can just go there to take your pictures.
heeheehee.
oh and btw, check out Kenny Sia today. he’s got the most hilarious April Fool gag up, instead of the usual ‘i’m gonna stop blogging!!!1111′ thing :D
p/s : dont you like the title of this blogpost?!
