Alvin has PE

i’m sure the camera-wielding of you will understand this predicament i seem to have.
hands up, people who have tried taking photos in an LRT (not of yourself ah, i mean of the inside of the LRT and the passengers), and then had like half of the people turn their backs to you, while furtively looking over their shoulder to see why you are taking photos of ‘them’.
… you can almost see the “OMG she stalking me issit?!” thoughtbubble fighting its way out of their hair.
hands up, people who have tried taking photos of your food in restaurants, only to have the diners at neighbouring tables look at you weird (why is that girl taking photos of her food?). or better yet, have the waitressing staff approach you to politely enquire if you’re a food columnist for a local publication?
hands up, people who have tried taking photos of stuff in a store, and then had salespeople come over to tell you “ekskew me ah, miss ah, here is cannot take photo wan!” before they throw you out of their shop?! well okay lah they never throw me out, but they ALWAYS follow me around the store like hawks after that. which is more annoying than being thrown out.
so yeah. phototaking. quite the pain in the ass, right? especially when you want some TIME to compose the perfect shot, and for people to stop looking at you weird while you do it!!!
that’s why my new favourite bookstore is Borders.

(Photo belongs to Berjaya.com.my. Guy in green apron belongs to Starbucks)
cos they allow me to take photos like these :

it was so cool. the readers there just glanced up every once in a while, and no one shushed us or anything! some of the Borders staff saw me jumping up and down and giggling like a maniac from behind the bookshelves, and so a couple of them came over to see what the hell was going on, but when they saw what we were doing they just smiled and left us alone. i was like WAH! MPH would never let me do this!!!
even the grumpy-looking security guards with the empty guns gave me a thumbs up and grinned when i was walking out of the bookstore. wow.
so everybody, ditch your local bookstore and buy your books at Borders. cos they’re cool, and they’ve got this ‘3 books for the price of 2′ promotion going on. how awesome right, if you buy like three hundred books at Borders you can save RM3,290!!! or you can just go there to take your pictures.
heeheehee.
oh and btw, check out Kenny Sia today. he’s got the most hilarious April Fool gag up, instead of the usual ‘i’m gonna stop blogging!!!1111′ thing :D
p/s : dont you like the title of this blogpost?!

what you and I had last night was a short and intense sex. I did not have Prematured Ejaculation.
And you were the one who’s too tired for a second round.
Hem hem!
2. pinkpau | April 2nd, 2006 at 1:47 am
you confuse tiredness and disdain, my dear .. :D your capacity of reading emotions is not the only thing that comes up short.
3. ArtificiallyVerbose | April 2nd, 2006 at 3:11 am
i don’t think i should be here *blush*
*turns runs and hides and sets up a vid cam* :P

*psst* IF you put up more photos, maybe Borders might give you free stuff for free advertising! ;p

You personify the unfairness of life. Some people go through their lives with a mediocre background, a mediocre family, a mediocre face, a mediocre body….living meticulously mediocre lives of mediocrity until they die a mediocre death.
You, on the other hand, seem to have someone tipped everyone’s candies into your pocket. As much as I hate you, you’re somehow infinitely adorable, and THAT’S unfair too!

I used to like boarders too, that is until I found Waldenbooks. But then again, it’s the same parent company. Oh, and to answer your question from before, I did listen to those tracks, however my favorite track was Delicate.

You know what you need right? A camera that can react faster than they can. Just prepare your shot and then turn, camera in hand, and snap away.
Either that, or have a camera that can shoot behind you. That way people wouldn’t know what’s going on until it’s too late :P

I’ve encountered everything you’ve mentioned up there. It’s not that bad if you utilise your camera phone though. Most of the time, I just pretend I’m typing a msg but hehehe..I’m actually snapping pictures of ppl with BO, ppl scratching their armpits, digging nose, and other stupid stuff.
Likewise in restaurants. Whenever I whipped out my digital cam and take snapshots of my food, I get intense weird, cold and unwelcomed stares from waiters, restaurant managers, patrons and etc. It’s like so jakun-ish and I can only afford to eat at their restaurant once in a lifetime.
It did happen to me recently when I was in my club. A chef came up to me and asked, “Why are you taking pictures of your food?”
I nonchalantly answered,”It looks so good and I tak sampai hati wanna eat it.” I cant possibly tell him I wanna post them up in my blog. He’ll be like..WTF?!!!111oneoneone.
Kenny Sia..always the smarter choice. he’s just fantastic. nuff said. Oh Lordy, that pink page. Like what DIGI said..Time to change:D

Keep in mind the other reason to shop in Borders is that they’re rumored to sell the wonderful Moleskine notebooks! So if I ever move back to Malaysia, I know a local supplier ;-)
Borders in Australia are also one of the few suppliers of Moleskines.
Once you write on one of them, there’s no turning back!
P/S: Nice picture btw. It looks like you took some effort in getting it. Kudos.

bout moleskines, i donno man, haha DO tell me what its appeal is!!!
18. Colin Charles | April 3rd, 2006 at 8:47 am
The appeal is good writing material. But I don’t know why there’s a recent craze… I’ve been using it for yonks, and they’re sitting here or there… Acid-free paper is good!
Thanks ArtificiallyVerbose, I have never bought a Moleskine in Malaysia… Always Internet-ordered, or bought overseas, for the last semi-decade or so
19. ria | April 3rd, 2006 at 11:27 am
me likes the pic.. it’s a lil childish but that hint of navel adds a whole lotta oomph. sexay :D
20. Johann | April 3rd, 2006 at 6:58 pm

21. eWe | April 3rd, 2006 at 8:38 pm
Aiya, just get a thousand hits a day and your own club and you can be just as good la. Also,….you need a bimbo blog ;p
22. pinkpau | April 4th, 2006 at 1:06 am

ria : and i love your new curls!!! do keep your hair like that forever and ever .. :D
johann : what is jetstar?
ewe : haha i think they get 10 times of one thousand hits ..! xiaxue gets 10000 from what i hear. wah must be nice to have my own club .. :D
23. eWe | April 4th, 2006 at 12:08 pm

24. Johann | April 4th, 2006 at 1:21 pm
The airline… like AirAsia, just that their advertising has people doing “star” jumps…

I had no choice but to laugh my kidneys out when I read the passage where there Chinglish appeared…”ekskew me ah, miss ah, here is cannot take photo wan”. A typical classic! Awesome! Man, for a good laugh, I’d give it 100 marks!
And I also liked the way you described the security fella’s “empty gun”. What…you really think he was that dumb?
Well, I seldom read blogs…I only read technical specs! Not that I like to but sometimes I just have to. But I do drop by your blog every now and then. I will now swing in more often for a good laugh.
Thanks. Great blog. Awesome writing. Keep up the good work. Hope to see you around.
