Three Legged Romance

i have this aunt. her name is smartypants. and i LOVE her from the very ends of my hair to the tips of my pink-painted toenails becozzzzzz -
SHE GAVE ME A DIGICAM TRIPOD.
i am so completely over the moon. how is that not the sweetest gesture in the whole wide world?! even my own parents dont gimme stuff like tripods :( all they do is sneer at me whenever i take pics during dinner or snap at me to put the camera away. sniff sniff sob. i was born to the wrong set of parents :(
oh well. nevermind. at least i got the right aunt! it is *so* damn cool to have a camwhore aunt cos camwhore aunts give the greatest camwhore gifts!
i dont have funky strobes and funky dSLRs and funky backdrops like Kevin, so poor me had to make do with an IXUS 500 on super large aperture, the bare white wall in my room, and ceiling lights. haha i know, so pathetic. smartypants, you want to buy me strobes anot?! :D
my darling brothers (whom i drag everywhere to go take pics with me), upon seeing the tripod, groaned out loud. “oh nooooooo,” moaned they. “have to work OT from now onwards!” i told them to quit bellyaching and wait till i get my car, then we can finally do that Peninsular Malaysia roadtrip i’ve been waiting all my life to do!!! they groaned some more. sissies.
on another note, i have decided to start college in august instead of the 15th of may like originally planned. ARGH DONT CHANGE MY MIND. i want a longer break :( and also cos i still havent decided between mass comm and psychology. okay wait. change my mind. tell me what i should do. come on, gimme guidance!
oh and have i mentioned that i totally love my aunt?

for regular lighting and stuff ur pics turn out very nicely. the high contrast gives the pics a lively happy feel. were they photoshopped? funky skirt btw.
no one can tell u what to do. just take the extra time to reflect on what you actually want to do for the rest of your life. choose the degree which would help steer u in that direction i guess.

as an arts-loving person in a super science course (that i still love but it’s just harder lor), i’d advise you to think seriously seriously about what you WANT to do. WANT. you don’t seem to be the type to succumb to what people tell you, but just in case…be very selfish here, ok?
having said that…you can always go back to mass comm if you end up not liking psychology.
haiyah pinkpau…you’ll excel in anything you do ler. i mean. spm?! and that was with you not liking most of the subjects?!?!

artificially : haha the wonders high camera exposure does! and yea i had to balance out the contrasts so that the white bgs would mesh :) arghhh the thing is, i want to do BOTH!

pwasad : that’s why i’m gonna do ADP, so i can pick later since mass comm and psych require more or less the same subjects. but it’s better to pick right now, so i can choose my States school, and ultimately pick the right subjects for ADP that are transferable :)

yeah for real. and psychology isn’t boring. but thing is, once you choose psychology, you’ll be innit for a very long time.

Get a double degree o something ;p do mass comm first den psychology ;p o e other way around. u can use both to ur advantage in e future. learning about human psychology and using it in mass comm. call me crazy but thats wat i wud do if i were u, but den again…..i’m not u ;p hahahahaha

jeremy : hey i got PLENTY of stuff to ask you then..!! where do you study? what did you do after high school? job prospects for BA Psych holders? is there REALLY a lot of math..? :(
crazymedicstudent : i was thinking of that, but lots of people are telling me i cant do a double major with a comm and psych pairing. :(

haha. i’m at SUNY stony brook now. i went to a hellhole named ‘HELP’ straight after highschool. there isn’t really much math, but more of statistics and research writing/methods etc. coz, u know, psych’s very research-orientated.
but when you’re talking about job prospects, you’re not really going to get anywhere with a BA/BSc in psych. it really depends on what kind of psych you’re going to specialize in, but generally, the basic standard is now a master’s everywhere. even in malaysia now.

u dun have to enroll for double deg, finish ur psychology deg. den do ur mass comm (o vice versa). Seperately. Thats wat alot of ppl do when they can’t double deg. it. if u truly luv those 2 courses as u ‘claim’ u r, den time ain’t a prob ;p
