The Miri Trip That Will Never Be
May 12th, 2006
as fate (or rather, parental overruling) would have it, i am forced to abandon all plans of attending the Miri Jazz Festival this weekend, in favour of a happy-clappy family trip to Kuching. i am not really complaining, cos i totally love these family do’s where i have to share a bathroom with my two gross brothers, but WHY cant i attend the jazz fest and then fly back down to Kuching after!!!

so JT will be flying to Miri alone, enjoying the music at the festival alone, eating kolo mee alone, and raiding Gua Niah alone.

hey why is Sarawak so happening suddenly? got Miri Jazz Fest this weekend la, next weekend got Bandfest Sarawak la, then in July got Rainforest Festival la .. walau, maybe i should just plant my butt in Sarawak forever! oh and speaking of Rainforest, is anyone going? i just got dumped by ivan cos he has school on those days :( ivan, i dont like you anymore. give me back my Chun-Li figurine!!!

Oh oh oh! Rainforest Festival! I know that! Yeah…I have plans to go there too but that also depends the timing. I would seriously skip college for that. He- he. Then again, you should be glad you have family trips. The last time my family and I went for a trip as a FAMILY with everybody there was 8 years ag. but now, it’s either me alone, with a friend, either mom or dad. Never a complete one:( But oh well, they are all very busy so you should be happy dear:D
And Chun- Li? She’s the big boobs two bunned up hair Street Fighter lady right? Oooohh..her blue suit is damn hot! very short too:p

hmm…actually i consider miri is my hometown although born in brunei and miri now is a city, not bad too as it got a lot of shopping centre because it’s only 30min drive to brunei so a lot of people come from brunei just to shop to miri cause of the currency exhange meanwhile malaysian people go to brunei to buy petrol (unlike singapore)…

samantha : kolok mee is tossed with peppered oil :) very nice. there’s also the red sauce version, the one you’re talking about, where they toss the noodles with char siew sauce. i tried both! very nice!!

Haha…I was there for the Jazz Fest and it was awesome. I already posted about the event. Next year’s Jazz Fest will be on the beach and it’ll be held every year in Miri. Since you couldn’t make it for the Jazz Fest, I suggest that you should go for the upcoming Rainforest World Music Festival from July 7 – 9. I went for it last year and it was the best of all the previous Rainforest Fest I attended before. Seems that when year goes by, the festival are getting better and more lively. So yea, try to make it!

Are you sure about that? All I can assure you is that the hotels at Damai Beach, which is just minutes away from the venue of the Rainforest Fest are fully booked. Hotels in the city might have space and you can use the shuttle bus provided by Holiday Inn for the Fest.

kenJJ : yeah, damai beach, damai lagoon, and the other 2 hotels beside it are all out. so is hilton, holiday inn kuching and this other hotel i forgot the name of. :(

with regards to WRMF, accommodation no prob …. like kenJJ said ….. important thing is to have tickets …… and i thinks there’s still available rooms at Santubong Resort ….. i’m sure mr kenny chai can assist u
