Back For Now

August 10th, 2006

after one long week of too much dhall and riceflour products, i am hooooome!!! some final thoughts on the trip - Sri Lanka is seriously the Land of Friendly People, and all women should buy their sanitary pads in bulk from SL because they cost like half the usual price over there.

this little vacation has also pretty much confirmed the Truth : despite the fact that i love my dad to the ends of the world, he will always love me much more than i love him. my mom on the other hand, loves me a lot less than i love her. i dont know which is sadder; the former, the latter, or the fact that our family relationship can be likened to an algebraic inequality.

i’m a bit sore because i completely forgot to check out Sri Lanka’s McDonalds. early this year, i thought i’d make it a point to visit a McDonalds in every place i travel to, eat something of theirs that cant be found in KL, and then finally take a pic to commemorate the Foreign McDonalds Experience :D but so far i’ve forgotten Sri Lanka, Kuantan, Malacca and Penang :( shitty. here are the few i’ve remembered to take -

Bangkok, Thailand

Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

Kuching, Sarawak

Chinatown, Singapore

my ovaries damn paining now. bloody period.

I understand the agony of bitching ovaries. Shredding endometrium walls are such a pain at times. Drink loads of warm water and just curl up. You’ll feel better. Don’t take the pink panadol tablets. Bad.

did you try the Fantastic bugrer in SIngapore? hahahaha.

and hey, dont take sour or any cold drinks when you have period! ;)

i am horrified by the fact that you actually said that menstrual cramps are caused by paining ovaries!

it’s the uterine muscles, people, the uterine muscles!

    tsk.

*wags finger at science student who did tremendously well for spm*

Lishun: Uterine muscles? not the contraction in the uterus caused when the endometrium walls shred? Otot uterin/ rahim? Bio was in BM wei…

i recommend one method to get rid of the eternal pain caused by period every month. have sexual intercourse every night for the first 3 days of your period.

it’ll accelerate the disposals and ease your pain considerably. infact you’ll be able to feel a tinge of sensation. just my two cents’ worth of experience.

vvens : hahaha yeah i did! i didnt understand it at first, until my friend slowly explained to me why they called it FANtastic. hey u know what stupid thing i always do during that time of the month - i’ll eat stuff like pineapples and mangoes and all that very cooling stuff @_@

lishun : omg! *ashamed* eeps the embarassment :P

  • 15. TheRealAnonymous  |  August 11th, 2006 at 2:06 am

wah… ovaries paining huh? Means u’re still within the first few days of period… which I believe are the worst of all. Well… umm… stay strong? hehehe…

    mom

  • 16. TheRealAnonymous  |  August 11th, 2006 at 2:09 am

    crap…. i just noticed u can’t use the “smallar than” symbol…

    i wrote

    dad > pinkpau > mom

(but from small to big arrangement instead of big to small)

    As i was saying,
I don’t know about the pinkpau > mom part…. but if u take the limit of the father-loves-daughter equation… it will almost certainly give u, to infinity.

  • 20. MichelleSY  |  August 11th, 2006 at 12:24 pm

Oh, you poor thing! Try Nurofen Plus and a heated wheatpack, hopefully that’ll help.
ps: Nice to know you’re back in Malaysia, away from the bombs and sanitary-pad obsessed thieves :D

  • 21. tze  |  August 11th, 2006 at 3:04 pm

the truth sucks and it hurts. i hate truths.

  • 22. nina  |  August 11th, 2006 at 3:29 pm

White Castle? What’s that? The only White Castle I know is a whiskey brand lol

  • 23. pinkpau  |  August 11th, 2006 at 6:06 pm

therealanonymous : no la my cramps are very temperamental wan - sometimes they come early, sometimes late, sometimes a week before my period. aww the limit part is so true

    michelleg: glad u did :)

johann : so i did! ooooh johanny guess where i am now!!!

pablopabla : haha i’m not actually =( my skin is all blotchy and rashy now. argh

michellesy : what is a heated wheatpack? is it one of those pillows that have herbs in it and u gotta pop them in the oven?

tze : so you would rather be deluded?

nina : White Castle like the fast food chain :D in Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle? we dont have that here so was wondering if you guys had that.

  • 24. nina  |  August 11th, 2006 at 8:18 pm

Ohhh lol. Nope, we don’t have that here. We’re getting a Krispy Kreme though ^_^

  • 25. MichelleSY  |  August 11th, 2006 at 10:59 pm

Yup, you have the right idea there - a wheatpack is simply a nice, soft piece of fabric filled with wheat. The idea being that you pop it into the microwave and ding it for a couple of minutes to get the heat retention properties of those lil’ wheat grains going =)
Great stuff this - not reeking with that acrid rubber smell that always seem to linger around hot water bottles, plus it’s warm enough to comfort, but not hot enough to scald your skin.
I have a lovely soft one made from corduroy to comfort me during that time of the month and now I can’t live without it =P
Definitely get yourself one, heat it up, pop it on your tummy, then pile on a fluffy quilt and sip on a mug of your favourite Milo (preferably made by the….er……Martian? =P)
Ahhhhhh……even the thought makes you feel better, no? =)

  • 26. MichelleSY  |  August 11th, 2006 at 11:01 pm

OK, I just realised the length of my last comment and cannot believe I could wax so lyrically and so long on A WHEATPACK! Ahahahah - guess I must love it more than I thought =P
Hope you feel much better soon =)

  • 27. andrew  |  August 12th, 2006 at 12:11 am

    KFC better la.

  • 28. Susan  |  August 12th, 2006 at 1:27 am

You know… that was exactly what my Economics teacher told us to do… visit as many McDonald’s as we can in different countries… (and compare the prices of Big Macs -_-”!!)…

  • 29. Kyels  |  August 12th, 2006 at 9:45 am

Sometimes I hate truths because it hurts — really bad.

You can definitely go to Sri Lanka one day again, and this time remember to try their MacDonalds!
