(something cool about malaysians : they know the exact age gap between siti nurhaliza and datuk k, the entire background of datuk k’s previous marriage and even the exact age of his kids from his first marriage.. but they dont know that pluto is no longer a planet. and then when people try to tell them, they dont believe.)

12. rt | August 30th, 2006 at 2:45 pm
here’s mine….
pisang goreng which are frequently spiced with dust and what-nots from the road
diversity but lack of unity
bangsar which serve overpriced drinks
pasar malams selling goods at a higher price than hypermarkets and not necessary any better quality
bulan ramadhan food markets which hygiene is a questionable doubt
easy let-offs when committing road crimes because of some unethical group of ppl in the law enforcement service
getting a driver’s license is easy, all you need is extra ‘fee’
you can be ignorant and no one would think that’s weird because being so is just to blend in
you can speak bad english and no one would think that’s weird
until you try to speak to a foreigner
being able to say lah! in addition to cheh! mah! etc etc
open houses which many ppl abuses and went into a feeding frenzy like savages
starhill which is just another overpriced shopping mall among the 265424 others
movies here are released on time if they conform to certain ’standards’ and still no guaranteed it will be shown in its entirety
good clubs which are ‘raided’ every so often when the proprietor has forgot to pay some ‘license’
good indie music scene until someone suggested suicide rates has something to do with it
good jazz scene
booming performing arts scene (the last two no comment..lack of exposure in that area)
curry puffs and onde-onde…this one I agree!
bargaining until the thing gone sour and the seller starts to curse and swear all the way to the dawn of time
cheap taxi fare if you’re one of the lucky ones to get into an honest cab
air tebu + coconut flesh (eh this one not unique to msia lah!)
entertaining conflicts between prime ministers and you start to really wonder what is the root cause and when the whining is ever gonna end
entertaining members of parliament (close one eye ok) until certain ministry instructed the mdeia to be gagged…freedom of speech?
free wifi in starbucks it better be if you’re paying RM7 to RM14 for a cup/glass of coffee
char siew pau you never know what part of the animal is used as fillings
air asia where everyone can be late
we can brag about our totally cool island getaways until they all get so commercialized and/or some stupid ship destroyed the coral reefs
as well as the towers that used to be the tallest building in the world which is abt 50% unoccupied
traffic jams that facilitate long conversations which ask why is there a traffic jam in the 1st place??
mamaks that open round the clock with ‘al fresco’ style dining experience which every now and then has someone perished from vehicle plowing into them
teh tarik that does not cost rm3 and it soon will be…changing lifestyles
chatty cabbies which sometimes you have trouble getting them to shut up
(scorching) sun and (torrential) rain
cheap electronic stuff in low yat plaza and frequently as cheap quality too
pirated dvds….this one I fully support until some dept keep its promised of lowering the prices of the originals
carmen soo have absolutely nothing against pretty lady
golden screen cinema’s caramel popcorn which is popcorn 87%, caramel 0.2% and others 12.8%
KLIA which is under-utilized and someone came up with a brilliant idea of builing LCCT
dear thelma….are you sure the articles are for real??
pretty saris in jalan tar…this one I also agree
coliseum which we nearly lost in the name of ‘development’
ang pau if you’re on the receiving end
cool nights which part of malaysia do you live? i rarely experience this
cameron highlands strawberry milkshake…..this one no comment..never had it before
melting pot of races and cultures….melted in the same pot but somehow not mixing/blending very well.
MPH which is way pricier than its competitor Popular
kit kats hidden in ice cream cones…you sure this is not production contamination?
good raves…this one no comment too…i avoid crowds.
petaling street hokkien mee which in many ocassion had roaches as dining companion and not to mention some variation of mickey mouse
laidback attitudes which explains the time taken to get something important done.
carding is almost unheard of…neither have i
dota culture…..i have to admit..me a bit outdated in this
ramli burgers…this is definitely agree!
the above is purely stating my own opinion and also what i see that need and can be improved….we all still have a long way to go. happy Merdeka everyone.
13. rt | August 30th, 2006 at 2:48 pm
arrggghhh…missing line…

Malaysia has the most public holidays… wohooo!!
And the most important thing u forgot… if u’re a chinese christian with loads of malay friends… then u’ll get a b’day present, loads chinese new year ang pau, loads of hari raya ang pau, AND a christmas present at the end of the year !! =)
The double presents ONLY apply IF your birthday and christmas is far apart… else u’ll get 1 gift for BOTH occations!! Which, luckily mine is NOT. hahaha

rt: hmm, i’m sorry that i had to be disagree with you bout what you write on air asia where everyone can be late…this bcoz i’m air asia regular customer, that i almost use air asia every week or sometimes twice a week on my business trip (to macau, sabah & sarawak), and i never encounter such problem (eg: flight delay) in these two year on my business trips..

splashmilk : *smacks u
eddie : glad u agree! ramli burger forever!
spiller : actually when i wrote carmen soo, i wrote jimmy choo right below her name. but then again, it’s not like i’ve ever worn any jimmy choos or even seen his stuff or even know anything about him besides the fact that he’s from penang and is based in NY. haha so he’s not relative to me at all, and it would be wrong for me to say that its great being msian cos of jimmy choo .. he doesnt even want much to do with msia. and carmen soo is HOT.
entwined : hehe i thought it would be the perfect ending to this post .. :P
prawn : what are you doing there in the land of fish and chips?? nvm la i will eat a roti canai in ur honour.
rt : wow, you really are a killjoy. but sadly, most of your addendums do ring true. i wish we could do something about it.

ally : omg yes! :O
turquoise : true, true .. hehe penang food is to die for. or jien and asam laksa and ckt and cendol! havent had real ipoh food in soooo long =( kway teow and sar hor fun!

vvens : OMG TOTALLY AGREE! how can i forget!! before spm i only passed like twice, but then SPM got A .. hahaha
percy : hehe cos pisang goreng is the most awesome thing on earth. hey about air asia, are you serious! my friends who frequent AA told me it’s always late.. and i recently flew AA for the first time, and true enuf the flight WAS delayed!
ken : wrong! pluto is a character from the anime sailor moon!
23. rt | August 31st, 2006 at 6:33 pm
percy….perhaps you’re one of the lucky few….
most of the ppl i know who used AA before has been delayed one time or another….
and sorry for being a killjoy…….there are things we can do to improve it……choose your govt wisely..at least make it more evenly distributed in the parlimentary seats…….
24. percy | August 31st, 2006 at 10:37 pm
yup i’m serious, my flight to miri, kk and macau never delay before and i being using aa since i starting working at my parent company 2 year ago..due to my parent business, i’ll need to go miri and kk once every 2 week and macau twice a month and i usually take night flight and i even knew some of its staff also…but everytime i use mas, my flight were delay and the worse is the flight to dubai (to work), where my flight were delay more than 8 hour…

26. MichelleSY | September 1st, 2006 at 12:08 am
LOL
You last comment really hits home. I mean, how could a shift of galactic proportions possibly compare to the impetus behind computing the age gap between a nubile young singer and her husband who may/ may not be lapsing into early onset dementia?
Hope you had a good Aug 31st Pinkpau!
Cheers
MichelleSY
