Take Me To Australia
November 19th, 2006
there are two reasons why everyone should migrate to Australia.
i met up with Johann the other day, and the darling brought me Tim Tams from melbourne!!! :D he got me 2 flavours, the original and strawberry, and the strawberry ones are omgSOgood. good enough for me to finish the whole pack before i even remembered to take pictures of them.
but no fear, i’ve got piccies of the other pack!

i know i know, they look very unassuming, but you HAVE to know that Tim Tams are so super yummy they make your toes curl. a Tim Tam is made up of a creamy chocolate filling sandwiched between two layers of the damn best-tasting biscuit in the world, and then the whole thing dipped in a coat of milk chocolate. and if you think that sounds good, the strawberry-flavoured one is even BETTER. the strawberry cream is just out of this world, with this marshmallowy texture that’s too high-quality for the price you get them for.

*sigh*
reason number two as to why everyone should migrate to Australia : Pods.
Johanny and i were at this supermarket in HK, just looking for cute stuff to buy, when he spotted Pods and told me how ‘addictively good’ they were. the box said ‘with Snickers’ and ‘ingeniously crunchy’. so, okay no need for further discussion, buy only!!!

BEST PURCHASE EVER.
okay this is what Pods are like. it’s this crunchy, cookie-like, biscuit shell that encapsulates a centre of melted chocolate AND a layer of Snickers filling. oh my god. and it’s bite-sized. double oh my god. and when you bite into it, it’s this crazy orgasmic combo of crunchy and gooey, and it’s so dense, and so chocolatey, and so Snickery, and .. yes, so addictively good.

that’s the thing about Pods - addictive. they’re light enough that you can actually eat a whole lot of them without feeling sick, unlike other chocolatey snacks. i mean, i popped half the box before i even knew it!! then upon realizing i was going to spoil my dinner, i gave the rest of the Pods to my brother. but snatched it back within minutes. sigh. Australian snacks will be the death of me. the last time it was peanut butter kit kats. then just when i get my fix of that, snail mailed to me courtesy of Johanny once again, those damn kangaroos come up with COOKIE DOUGH KIT KAT. arghghghghghh.
i wanna move to Australia now. i’m not forgetting that they have Max Brenner, Krispy Kreme and Kokoblack. and Lygon Street gelati.
this is me and the evil Johanny on the ferry. remember his face well. if you ever bump into him and he offers you some ‘addictively good’ australian snack, DONT TAKE IT. you’ll die from the cravings once you finish whatever you’ve got in your hands.

You don’t want people to take snacks from me because you want to keep them all to yourself don’t you? I’ll just have to find more snacks for you to addict yourself with the Next time I see you ;)

when I was in Britain, we used to suck hot choco through tim tams - like straws. u should try it, i bet it tastes heavenly with milo. ehm, thought we could buy tim tams here pinks. whats so special?
p/s watch out, u might get FAT … hahahaha
5. Colin | November 19th, 2006 at 11:30 pm
max brenner is something that will probably never hit malaysia, thanks to its heritage. i did hear singapore might/already has one.
krispy kremes imply melbourne or sydney, at the moment.
and lygn st. gelati, which one? the old one, or freddo’s (sp? erps) that has durian gelati (everyday now!)
anyways, if you want tim tams/pods, i can fit whatver it is my suitcase can take and bring some back if you’d like. mid-December is my slated arrival. if you’d want it, finding my email address cant be hard :P
6. rae | November 19th, 2006 at 11:38 pm
tim tam in msia uses cheapskate choco while the ones in aust are just mmmmm…*drools*
yes freddo’s durian gelati are like the bomb.
n cadbury in aust are apparently the best in the world. cheap n nice! must try!
but surprisingly aussie gals dont seem to be fat where delicious fattening food are abundant over there.

bulat : awww. i just wanna spread the love of timtams and pods :P
adrian c : yeah i’ve heard of that! it’s called like a tim tam .. something. tim tam suck? tim tam explosion? haha i forget. and yes it does sound very very heavenly. arghghg malaysian timtams are rubbish… it tastes very pirated wan. cis, fat your head lah =(
colin : sg does indeed already have MB! at the esplanade. yup i was thinking krispy kreme melb :) and i dont know the name of the gelati place, but i think it’s the one called freddo’s coz i know that place has durian gelati! GASP are you serious about the timtams/pods!!!
rae : exactly! cheap pirated stuff -___- i ate one a long time ago and didnt get the hype. only realized later that the ones we get in msia are not made in Aus. eh u know, cadbury in australia has these potato-chip shaped chocolates. with like nuts in it. looks sooo cool.

14. Johann | November 20th, 2006 at 10:57 am
You know you can’t resist… :P Come here and lets elope with a Pods wedding cake darling future wifey :D
15. Cat-chan | November 20th, 2006 at 1:12 pm
OMG, you hadn’t tried Pods until so late in the year? *bangs head on wall* Unbelievable! Unthinkable! If I ever come back, I’m bringing you every damn flavour of Pods there is! Well…. if I can fit them in my suitcase…. which I probably won’t be able to do. -.-”
And you only had plain Tim-tams! What about the caramel type with chewy caramel in the middle? What about the Double Coat Tim-tams? What about the Black Forrest Tim-tams? What about the Mint Slices? What about all those other types of Tim-tams that I can’t list here because they’re so numerous I can’t remember them? I believe there is a lemon cheesecake Tim-tam around. =^^= You must try them, if you haven’t already!
Come over~ Try all our chocolates, yes~
16. reallybites | November 20th, 2006 at 1:30 pm

20. Fireangel | November 20th, 2006 at 5:04 pm
Tim tams was the FIRST thing that came to mind after reading your first line. HHAHAHA
wah that fellow quite cute. I bet he’s underaged though, like you. Sigh.
21. pinkpau | November 20th, 2006 at 5:19 pm
susan : here in msia, they’re underrated :P pods are THE BEST
johann : OMG a pod’s wedding cake. im just picturing it. and our wedding favors could be like.. little max brenner chocs in little boxes. can i wear tim tams in my hair?!
cat chan : gasp there’s so many types of timtams?! i had the strawberry and the original ones. i hear the dark choc one is veryyy good. arghghghgh black forest sounds promising
reallybites : true also. okay lah. i dont hate u anymore!
midnitelily : 3 days and counting .. :)
laziicat : *CRAVING* dont say another word!! =(
ria : noooooo!!! *hordes pods and timtams to self* heehee
fireangel : you’ll be glad to know that he’s older than you :P and im not underaged anymore lah!! =(
22. bs | November 20th, 2006 at 5:24 pm
ooo… FA faster faster! grab that guy! I would do so myself if I weren’t the one underaged. SIGH.
23. vvens | November 20th, 2006 at 5:55 pm
how come Tim Tam there and TIm Tam here are different? :(
24. ront | November 20th, 2006 at 5:59 pm
european chocs are better……at least let me have some reason to stay here lah
25. Hishy | November 20th, 2006 at 6:12 pm
I hate Tim Tams, but I bought them at a petrol station here, does it actually matter if it’s bought in Australia or here? -_-
Hm, but the Pods… gaaahdaisjdija I WANT.
You seem to have chocolate so often, it’s like… in the universal order of things, chocolate will gravitate to you… even when it seems like you’re the one who finds it, I think it’s the chocolate that finds you. Remember.. logos, or universal reason: chocolate finds Su Ann.
Er, I should stop philosophizing about CHOCOLATE… of all things.. sigh -_-
26. MichelleSY | November 20th, 2006 at 8:58 pm
And I can give you Reason #3 to migrate to Oz: A ready supply of Reese Peanut Butter Cups at a candy store near my place =P
Ya lah, I know Reese is buatan US, but that doesn’t stop me from stuffing my face XD
I actually got curious after your post (and KY’s and Suanie’s) so I went out and bought two oversized ones - only two, cos I’m not usually a big fan of peanut butter. I am now a convert, much to the detriment of my complexion and my waistline =P
27. jimmy | November 20th, 2006 at 11:29 pm
tobey maguire look-a-like.
is fireangel horny? ahhahaa
28. DLT2 | November 21st, 2006 at 1:44 am
Omg I had those “pods” thingy b4. They were tha bomb =D
But the only catch is that, mine’s slightly melted -_-” so itz more like a miserable clump of slimy choc and wafer thingo.
Nevertheless, still da bomb =D
29. rae | November 21st, 2006 at 8:06 am
lygon’s street is full with gelati shops selling durian gelatis. but freddo still the best :)
30. Adrian | November 21st, 2006 at 11:47 am
I agree.. pods are very heavenly :D
31. pinkpau | November 21st, 2006 at 3:40 pm
vvens : ours are made in jakarta, so i guess the ingredients used and the ratios are different!
ront : haha swiss chocolate. eh where in europe are u?! dont make me jealous
hishy : dooooont buy our local tim tams. they are total rip offs, taste like crap. Pods are definitely the yum. hehe next time i go HK i buy bak a box for u. i am a believer of monoism - the world is made up of only chocolate!
michellesy : what is the oversized one? is it bigger than the one that’s the size of one’s palm?
jimmy : hehe i know! ever since i watched Spiderman, i keep telling him that he looks like tobey maguire. he doesnt believe me though =(
dlt2 : eat them freshhhhh
rae : i so lurve lygon st. sigh! bring me to melbourne =(
adrian : yummmyy stuff. got snickers filling summore!
32. Fireangel | November 21st, 2006 at 3:56 pm
REALLY?
Then i bet he’s not single.
Or he’s gay.
Or has extra an extra appendage sticking out of his calf.
Or had a midget fetish.
No?
Then can I have his number? :P :P :P
*shameless*
*suddenly self-conscious*
*runs*
33. ront | November 21st, 2006 at 4:41 pm
the best are still the belgians and the german…..the swedes and finns have some pretty serious and good stuff also…although the later two are not so widely known…then again…..you can get those Marabou in Ikea…..the dark ones are the best!
34. pinkpau | November 21st, 2006 at 4:52 pm
fireangel : you forgot; not in the same country :P
ront : you’re still not telling me where you are!
35. MichelleSY | November 21st, 2006 at 8:12 pm
Nope, it is smaller than the size of one’s palm. Are you telling me you can get RPBC that are BIGGER??? 0_0
36. scott | November 21st, 2006 at 9:10 pm
I thought you were going to put Hugh Jackman as one of the two things. I underestimated you!
37. hui wen | November 22nd, 2006 at 3:17 am
Hahahhahahhahahha… I can’t help but feel like taunting you… =p I just came back from Melbourne, and I have Pods and a few packets of Tim Tams sitting next to me now, heheheh…
And Freddo’s rock!! Must try the Roche flavour!
And try Bisc!! It’s a chocolate covered wheat biscuit, with Twix/Mars/Snickers fillling!!!
And I still feel Original Tim Tams are the bomb, even compared to the strawberry/ double coated/black forest/mint/caramel ones. :)
And I had so much fun trying out the new Kit Kat flavors!! Kit Kats in Melbourne are SO much nicer.
And Max brenner’s belgium waffles is LOVE LOVE LOVE.
38. jane | November 22nd, 2006 at 5:32 am
OMG! belgium is like the land of chocolate and waffles! they are just amazing! its autumn here now, and the best feeling is when you are walking on the street, freezing cold, and you have a FRESH, WARM AND SOFT WAFFLE in your hand!! just one bite of it and it will make you feel sooooooo good!! =)
and OMG again, CHOCOLATES! they are EVERYWHERE! chocolate shops practically on every street, at every corner, chocolate shops after chocolate shops..!! chocolates are like part of ppl’s daily life.. haha.. =D there are so many types of chocolate that you just don’t know what to choose at times!
i *heart* chocs..!!
don’t you? =)
39. pinkpau | November 22nd, 2006 at 6:01 am
michellesy : the ones im used to are the ones that are the size of ur palm, minus the fingers. havent seen any bigger than those! but i wouldnt be surprised if they existed, seeing how hersheys have made those humongous Hersheys Kisses the size of one’s head!
scott : he’d be the third reason. heehee!
huiwen : you are suuuuuchh a biatch =( now i want this Bisc thing..
jane : eh! i always thought belgian waffles were the crispy hard ones? arghghghgh curse you people who live in europe, the most beautiful continent ever!
40. steph | November 22nd, 2006 at 7:39 am
