Rashes

i’ve got a really bad case of god-knows-what on my face. for brevity’s sake, i say it’s rashes whenever anyone asks (or rather, exclaim ‘what the FUCK happened to your face??’ gee thanks guys.. love you too). the last time this happened, i jokingly told the dermatologist that my boyfriend kissed me too much, but he didnt seem very humoured. he instead replied in a very serious tone and with a very straight face, ‘dont take it so lightly yah. it may be more serious yah.’
‘really? but it always goes away after a few days..’
‘exactly yah. this is a symptom of what we call lupus, yah.’
nooooooooooooooooooo! i’m dying!!!!!!!!
anyway that was two months ago. he told me to go back to him immediately the next time the rash comes back, which is now, but i didnt. cos i have a life. but irritatingly, this rash thingy is getting in the way of that. i stayed in the whole of yesterday and today, coz there was no way i would go anywhere with the freakin map of china on my face >:( right now, i should be walking out of the cinema after having watched The Holiday, a movie i have been waiting forever to watch!!! and then i should be heading to Maison, where everyone is. having mad fun, no doubt. without me. grrrr this hermitting sucks. i’m not even sure if i wanna go to school tomorrow. and it’s friday night summore!!! party night!!! see lah i knew i should have gone to see the doc earlier.
okay that’s it tomorrow i’m going to see the doc. rashes or what is potentially lupus, 1.5 days of my social life is all you shalt have, but no more! i am getting rid of you tomorrow. hopefully SJMC will have a dermatologist as hot as McDreamy. heehee.

okay i know you cant see the rashes in the above pictures. i have no idea why. BUT IT’S THERE I SWEAR TO YOU IT IS. this Martian keeps saying it’s nothing. can anybody who’s seen me face-to-face (you know, as opposed to someone who’s all the way in hongkong and only sees me via webcam) in the past 3 days please leave a comment and tell him how terrible the condition of my skin is!!! -____- faster!! i damn cannot tahan ppl accusing me of being dramatic.

Ok, ok, sorry sweetheart, but it’s not everyday you get told you may (or hopefully may not) have an autoimmune disorder.
Please take care of yourself ok (and Martian, please take care of her too!)

michellesy : yea i actually looked it up on the net, and this malar/butterfly rash they say is a symptom of lupus IS what i get every now and then. on avg about once every 1-2 months. the doc mentioned it was a manifestation of problems with my immune system.. but i donno .. i feel pretty healthy, haha. gonna go back to him and see what he has to say, though this time around it’s not as bad as it used to be.
aiya Martian wont take care of me wan. he’ll just ask me to sleep early and stop eating cakes =( so bad right.

not asking you to be a worry wart. but agree with the doc & certain authority not to take certain things too lightly. what certain things? college attendance and pinky rash.
“good worry” is the starting point for problem-solving. it is healthy and realistic to worry about some of life’s problems….. this comment is definitely revealing my age!!…but argghhh..just cant help myself !!

Im in Business school btw. Though it’s my theory that cameras can spread STDs, Shutter Transmitted Diseases.

Did the flare up only happen after you exposed yourself to the sun? It can cause grave problems to your joints, heart, kidney and others; it’s only good to see your doc and do some specialised blood test to confirm or rule out this diagnosis.

cheryl : nope, i have no idea what causes it. i used to think it was the airplane or change in climate cos it would always hit when i was travelling, but nowadays it comes and goes even when im in kl. yup i heard all that from my dermatologist, abt the joints heart kidneys etc. but i didnt manage to see him this time around :\ it cleared up quite quickly.

rashes eh? that’s really odd. ive currently been sporting some similar sounding rash on my face too and no, i havent seen a doctor either. well rather it just came about recently. im just taking mine as a heat rash/ allergy to some chips ive been snacking alot on recently. hope your rash is better now.
as for maison’s pity about your rash as i was there the night you were meant to be there too. it couldnt have possibly have been some form of gathering with friends from college could it? spotted a number ot taylor’s peeps that night. not sure if mj and co are part of your crowd.

hey i’ve seen some people with a case of lupus, it’s not a pretty thing. tis some serious shit. there is no cure but it can be supressed so start treatment early so you don’t have any scars.
