Hi My Name Is

i once sat beside a girl in the cinema. we were watching a locally-made movie about ghosts in mirrors. we both didn’t like the show, so we kept leaning towards each other and sniggering softly at all the stupid parts. later on when we were out of the cinema hall, and in the ugly green-painted corridors where the shuffling post-movie throng and raucous voices allowed for our own loud autopsy of the movie, we bitched openly about it. i remember thinking, this girl is fun! then i went to the bathroom. and when i came out, she had left. that’s all. that’s it. i never actually got to continue sharing my thoughts with her about the horrible standard of our local horror movies, or tell her that she’s really nice to talk to, or say goodbye to her.
