And a large majority can speak at least 2 of those, if not 3 (Romansch is pretty rare, only heard in one of the cantons). Having an Italian grandma and a German grandad is not uncommon. And yes, these are cultures worlds apart (even though only separated geographically by Switzerland). Perhaps Malaysia needs to have compulsory Mandarin and Tamil classes for everyone!
