The Malaysian Dreamgirl Top 6

April 12th, 2008

so 6 girls remain in Malaysian Dreamgirl after this week’s elimination, and i must say that i am extremely extremely disappointed that my favourite Dreamgirl was eliminated this week. sigh. regretfully, i didn’t vote for her this week, because i chose to vote for Jay. i should have voted them both or something - my favourite really had the potential to win the competition if only she had survived this week :(

last week the shoot was themed White Summer, where all the girls were dressed in white and the shoot was all sunshine and smiles :) i really liked how the photos turned out - so sweet! this week it was the Wella Inspiration shoot, where the girls got some really dramatic hair and loud makeup. mmm, i have mixed feelings about the mood of the pictures; in all honesty i didnt think any of the photos (except for Fiqa’s and maybe Jay’s) were nice at all. they made all the girls look like men and the lighting was just so tak ngam. too much shiiiiine on the skin!

visiting the Dreamhouse

my humble opinion on the Dreamgirls so far:

(read on only if you don’t mind knowing, or already know, who got eliminated this week!)

ADELINE: the thing is, her english actually isn’t so bad off-camera - it just sounds conversational and totally Malaysian. Adeline’s very quiet and never really has much to say. a very stunning girl in person cos of her height and her looks, but i always feeling like smacking some emotion into her expression during photoshoots. there is absolutely no intensity at all in her eyes - she looks either bored or stoned in all her pictures :( haih donno why after so many week still no improvement on her part. i wish she would smile more - she looks soooo super cute when she smiles!

CINDY: haha Cindy Cindy, the most controversial girl in the house. she’s a babe by most standards, and many of my guy friends who watch the show are absolutely crazy about her. i get the feeling she’s very used to people fawning all over her, and that’s why she’s just falling apart in the house because all of the girls cant stand her. the tomateoows incident was such a mountain made out of a molehill, you kneowww :P Cindy claims Nadia was mean and overreacted (called her pukimak!) about her small mistake of eating Nadia’s tomatoes, but Nadia tells us that when Cindy apologized, it was rude and flippant - “aiyahhh sorry lahhhh i pay you back lah okay??”. i think Cindy is definitely a very pretty girl, but she isn’t doing as well as i expected in this competition. for someone who’s so defensive and competitive, she seems to be paling in comparison to the others.

FIQA: i’m so depressed that Fiqa was eliminated :( Mr. BBQ and i were anxiously looking out for her at the MIFA showcase, but when we didn’t see her on the runway, we instantly knew what had happened. i couldnt shut up about how the show has no meaning for me now /dramatic T___T she was my favourite from the very start, even before that chun makeover, because she was sweet yet sexy, smart, bold and eloquent. she had this versatility about her that i thought would bring her very far in this competition. and summore when i arrived at the Dreamhouse that day, she was outside sweeping the leaves in the compound. so hardworking!!! T___T

it is VERY VERY unfair that she was eliminated during the one week where she trumped all the other contestants in the photoshoot. this is why i think the judges need to play a bigger role in the competition. they ought to TELL the audience who did well and who didn’t, tell us what goes on during the shoots that the camera never seems to capture - that way we know who deserves our votes. otherwise all of us will be just sitting back and not voting because we don’t have a compelling reason to vote for any of the girls.

HANIS: i loooooveeee Datin Hanis she is so adorable and i want to keep her in my pocket!!! her face is absolutely gorgeous and i love her bubbly personality. she’s one of those girls that you cant hate no matter what; you see lah even when she complains about the other Dreamgirls it’s so freaking cute :\

she is going to go very far. she has a likable face that she is slowly learning how to chameleon-ize. very nice! at MIFA, she appeared on the runway about 4 times for 4 different designers, and was even a muse for one designer :) i was so happy to see that. she’s got a great walk for a beginner and the right look for commercials and TV. here’s a rising star, everybody :)

JAY: like Hanis, she was chosen by designers to model their designs more times than any of the girls during MIFA. all the other girls (except Jay and Hanis) appeared only once - but Jay appeared 5 times for 5 designers, and each time, she worked the runway like a PRO :) Jay looked absolutely stunning that night - tall and elegant and refined. where her strong features can be a tad masculine for print modeling, it absolutely WORKS on the runway. sigh you had to have been there to marvel at how good she was. i really hope that she makes it big in the modeling scene after Malaysian Dreamgirl :)

Jay in red, strutting her stuff!

she’s got a great personality and nature as well. when we were visiting the Dreamhouse, it was so clear she was the one all the girls were comfortable with and looked up to. Jay’s very warm and mature, extremely articulate and polite - i liked her the moment i stepped into the house. and she introduced me to the nicest brand of crackers ever!! Jacob’s :D the little ones, then topped with tuna mayo. yum yum.

NADIA: it was very interesting chatting with her during the Dreamhouse visit :P in my opinion, she’s just a very misunderstood person. what comes across as bitchy and anal, is really just someone who has principles and sticks by them fastidiously. i told her that most viewers are of the opinion that she’s bitchy and unlikeable, and i asked her if she would change her personality if it was getting in the way of people voting for her. and she said no, she wouldn’t, because then her friends and family - the people whose votes mattered most to her - wouldn’t vote for her or respect her very much. it was nice to see that side of her :)

i think Nadia’s damn sexy, i really do. her infamous ‘garang’ face looks really good on the runway. like Tyra Banks would say (while wagging her finger) - fiiiiiieeeeeerce! i also appreciate how honest she is, though of course in a reality show where other girls are involved, this can come off as mean. also, this girl can really talk and talk and talk :P

RINGO: in all honesty, if Ringo wasn’t a celebrity blogger, she’d disappear into the shadows of this show. she and Adeline are the quietest of all the girls.. but even Adeline has something to be remembered for - her spoken English. it looks to me like Ringo is so afraid of committing another faux pas, that she’s trying not to do anything that would put her in the slightest of difficult situations. i don’t think this is working in her favour at all. instead, it’s giving people the wrong impression that she’s not willing to work hard to earn the votes she’s getting. right now all it looks in the show like is that she’s just existing; no passion, no verve, nothing :\ le sigh. she needs to let that fun personality of hers pop on-screen, even more so in her pictures.

me with the Dreamgirls :)

i’m glad to see that with Episode 11, there has been a lot of improvement in the show - less of the pointless things like girls eating, girls working out, girls getting spa treatment (all while random background music plays), and more of the interesting bits. things are picking up, yes? am also happy to see that they started displaying the photoshoot pictures during elimination - it’s good to have some reference when Sazzy is doling out her judgment on each girl’s photo.

but for some reason, the judges are STILL not playing the role of a panel at the moment. why are they called judges if they dont judge! and Sazzy is still a little bit irrelevant save for elimination time - which i believe would be infinitely more exciting if the judges handled it :\

all that said, i can’t wait for this Saturday’s episode - i hear the girls are going to be modeling Carven Ong designs!!!!! w00t. let’s see how this goes. pssst SSGers! Joanne was at MIFA too, modeling a gorgeous red dress by Carven Ong :)

this week, i’m voting for Hanis, because i think she’s shown the most improvement throughout the show. how about you guys - who are you voting for?

i totally agree with you about how the judges should play a bigger role in the show. they’re like not influential now and it’s just who has more family and friends out there that will vote for them!

    bring fiqa back :(

  • 3. WristBandMan  |  April 12th, 2008 at 6:32 am

Glad to see that you do now have a skewed opinion of Ringo even though that she is a fellow blogger.
Agree very much with what you wrote about Ringo (especially the afraid of committing fauxpass, and just existing),
except that I’d use less tact when saying it.

    Who to vote?

Well, if Ringo = The UMNO of MDG

UMNO = controls legions of blind voters by manipulation of mainstream meadia.
RINGO = controls legions of blind voters by whoring of bimbo-blog.

UMNO = censorship of dissenting views in mainstream media by Zam
RINGO = censorship of dissenting views in Cheerserland by mr. bbq

UMNO = calls bloggers names like monkeys, liars before general election.
RINGO = calls judges blind, fungus-eye before recalled to the Top 12

UMNO = Won general election by small margin
RINGO = Got into top 12 only after 1 girl decide to pull out.

    UMNO = Postal Votes
RINGO = Blind Bimbo Blog Votes

UMNO = Khairy, Zam, Nazri and all the people who make noise and complain before general election suddenly become low-profile and quiet after general election
RINGO = suddenly become quiet and stays away from drama after getting in top 12.

    Then again who to vote?

    **************************************

    Like the last general election,
    vote for anyone but UMNO!!!!!

    **************************************

Oh, and also…. on the production side,
other than Sazzy Falak being inconsequential….

you guys being one of the 3 “official” MDG blogs should have written more!!!!

A lot of things are pretty out of the blue, if you only watch the show but don’t get background information…

like in episode 3… i didn’t know why was people not happy with ringo being back…
and then previous episode cindy and nadia complaining abt each other… then suddenly talked about fiqa being flirty out of the blue … how to know ler…

  • 5. WristBandMan  |  April 12th, 2008 at 6:36 am

#3 is written by Death Note btw.. have to give credit

  • 6. gene  |  April 12th, 2008 at 7:29 am

    agree with wat u say… i like Jay a lot.. She’s really good n she’s likable..

So sad dat fiqa is out, she’s my fav contestant too… now dat she is out, MDG is not dat interesting to me anymore…

i like nadia, her look is exotic…

Cindy was abused verbally in her blog, many of them are Ringo fans… check out d comments on her blog http://hotpinkchili.blogspot.com/
i sorta pitty her… she might seems bitchy, but i dun think she deserves so much public humiliation

I think it’s quite unfair for other girls that they have to compete for votes with Ringo who has a huge population of bimbo fans. Ringo herself is not up to par for a modelling career.. her height is an issue, i know that many msian girls are petite n of similar height. but as a model, d basic criteria is to be tall. Ringo’s picture is okay, not fantastic, her makeover shoot is quite nice, but d photos of d following week until now is not great watsoever… She doesn’t do well on catwalk too… she has been outshine by other girls.
she might look cute but modelling is not all bout cute…Her big group of bimbo fans idolize her n make her their goddess… i wonder, how blind the fans are… ppl who make negative comments on her blog will received backlash by her group of fans.

many ppl commented on Ringo’s POLITICAL PLOT

Su ann, if u r in MDG, i’ll support u all d way!!!

  • 8. Silas  |  April 12th, 2008 at 8:13 am

looks like the ringo haters are migrating here from some other blog comment box that they’ve already exhausted.

  • 9. sheon  |  April 12th, 2008 at 8:32 am

i’d vote for Cindy…….becoz imho, cindy and fiqa have the complete package. ringo is fine…but she’s too petite to be top flight. :)

we’re looking for a model……..not miss-world-peace. thats why i think cindy being….err…controversial is not really that relevant lor.

  • 10. Michelle C  |  April 12th, 2008 at 9:08 am

PINKPAU, I NEED YOUR OPINION. DROP BY ME BLOG.

  • 11. yun  |  April 12th, 2008 at 10:17 am

YES very unfair that Fiqa’s out! =( =(
    whyyyyy……
I think Jay’s the best amongst all the remaining contestants..sigh..but actually right, none of them deserves the MDG title…

  • 12. tze  |  April 12th, 2008 at 10:24 am

sigh i told u right su ann that ringo wahhh really lor i hated her the moment she said she doesn’t feel sad at all wtf. where got ppl so bland wan GAWD.

and i didn’t like the way sazzy put down ALL the contestants during episode 11.. it’s one thing to offer constructive criticism but it’s another to eat away their confidence. even tyra - a world class model - gives compliments where compliments are due!

  • 13. grace  |  April 12th, 2008 at 10:55 am

i dun get it why fiqa is out. in d wella inspiration photo shoots, all pictures were really not up to standard except for fiqa’s n jay’s!
i was starting to like fiqa because in every photoshoot, her pose are different and really stands out.

i’m also a reader of cheeserland, but frankly saying if i hadn’t know ringo through blog, i may not vote for her because she doesn’t really shines in photoshoot nor catwalk nor personality. * shrugs*

Cindy has a nice face, but frankly i don’t like the attitude.

  • 14. grave-digger  |  April 12th, 2008 at 11:10 am

first req of a runway model = height. period. because clothes look ten thousand times better on taller girls who can carry them off with their body frame
    second req = oomph factor
    third req = head-turners
    etc…

in general, asian girls are genetically-disadvantaged, but even so, cutting some slack in height doesnt extend to 5′2″. that’s stretching a bit too far. even “voting for a change” shouldnt include this kind of unrealistic change - what kind of change was she thinking of INDUCING anyway by uttering that cliche, sheesh. personally, i would think a minimum of 5′6-7″ even among asian girls in order to be competitive with others in the modeling field.

want to vote for someone pretty or cute, please do so in prom queen contest or miss hello kitty competitiion, and not in a model search reality show like mdg. it’s quite obvious that all successful models out there are not necessarily pretty and/or cute, but they garner recognition and wealth because they have a unique look or feature and exudes the wow factor along with them, and those are what attracts designers and clients: cindy crawford (mole), kate moss (waif-ish look), elle macpherson (’the body’), to name a few supermodels.

what i despise abt this competition:
    1) the whole sms vote concept that had twisted the whole competition to become miss popularity or the girl with the richest-voters-who-dont-mind-voting-continuously contest, and not a selection based on merit and improvement. (where the hell are the judges when you need them?!)
    2) the fact that fans of a certain blog we know are so damn adamant and defensive in their (blind) proclamation that their idol is producing absolutely the BEST in absolutely everything compared to other contestants - photoshoots, catwalk, personality and everything else, when clearly the reality is the opposite

on the fact that people who write comments along the lines of mine are labelled ringo-haters, guess what, (drum rolls), we are not. we are merely stating the obvious. in fact, i used to enjoy reading her blog entries from time to time long before mdg and was entirely neutral towards her, until i lost all my respect for her as a person recently. first, she could have written the original mdg-bashing post (free speech rights, right?) but chose NOT to return to mdg when recalled. now, not only did she returned after questioning the judgment of the mdg, she also wants to (desperately) win the competition. and yes, all her blind fans who blindly defended her actions are forced to eat back their words recently when she retracted her words in the dreamhouse — but think about it, would she have felt remorseful and apologized to the finalist girls for the offensive (as deemed by others) entry if she wasnt recalled? i guess we will never know that for sure, but my take on this is that no, she would not have bothered.

    verbatim:
“… and yeah.. i dont know, ever since i join the competition and i realized that i did a mistake, which i am not going to repeat, so…”
~ spoken by her in MDG Episode 11, Part 3, aired on 10th April 2008

    versus

“Since I’m no longer in the contest, I can start bitching already! You see, I really am not very happy about the result. I’m not at all disappointed that I didn’t get in, after all I didn’t think I deserve a place in the top 12 since I actually think that the judges were blind when they let me through the first audition.”
~ written by her back on 22 February 2008

she “apparently” only realized her mistake after she rejoined the competition? I dunno about you guys, but when i read/hear someone saying in explicit terms that he/she is writing to bitch about something that involves other people, then it hints to me that your entry is more than likely to be offensive right off the bat.

faux pas indeed. but nobody held a gun to her temple. ringo dug her own grave. enough said.

  • 15. grave-digger  |  April 12th, 2008 at 11:33 am

and oh, plus, anyone who claimed that she doesnt have a saddest moment in her life, is a blatant liar.

    liar liar pants on fire.

(for christ’s sake, in all honesty, elaine daly doesnt even really care to know her saddest moment, she just want to see how spontaneous is she in answering question and the way she approaches it or even better, how did she eventually overcome it and become a stronger person as a result)

really, i cant blame elaine daly for disliking ringo, when ringo herself gave such an answer to totally brush-off elaine daly who is one of the JUDGES for the competition. tell me, would you give a similar answer to (brush-off) your job interviewer when you are asked behavioral questions?

  • 16. reallybites  |  April 12th, 2008 at 11:45 am

ringo and hanis are like the only ones who havent been in the bottom three before yes?

i havent voted yet so far but i shall vote for ah lian if she makes it to the top 2/3.

  • 17. GnomeFan  |  April 12th, 2008 at 12:47 pm

    (refer at your pic)

i think that YOU should compete against these girls..
    haha..
i sure would vote for you!! :D

  • 18. carol  |  April 12th, 2008 at 1:03 pm

i totally agree with you on your views on ringo. watching her is such a bore…she’s so passive and too safe. she says she’s in it just for the car, and no doubt she could easily win it thanks to her die-hard ringo supporters who defend her like their lives depend on it. :S
    sigh, just another popularity contest.

imo, i think Jay is the most deserving to be the first MDG! :D

  • 19. kevin tan  |  April 12th, 2008 at 1:09 pm

um… i seriously don’t think whats-her-name is pretty lorr… *scrolls back up and checks her name* .. yea its Cindy.

u’re right about ringo though, she needs to stop hiding.

  • 20. sweatlee  |  April 12th, 2008 at 1:11 pm

now that fiqa is out, i’m rooting for either jay..or hanis i think. i didn’t like jay at first but i think she’s doing pretty well now! hanis also la. nadia will be my third choice the rest i also don’t remember who already wtf.

  • 21. twinkie  |  April 12th, 2008 at 1:38 pm

i’m also SUPER disappointed that Fiqa got booted out. =(

I’m not a fan of Hanis when they’re doing the interviews, etc. She’s way too saccharine sweet for my liking. But whenever she starts working it on the runway or fashion shoots, that’s when I start to sit up…

    Go Jay!!

  • 22. sha  |  April 12th, 2008 at 1:58 pm

fiqa!!!!! why never vote for her =( *sobs*

  • 23. TheRealAnonymous  |  April 12th, 2008 at 2:19 pm

I’m no longer following Malaysia’s Bimbo Idol coz’ i think its stupid. Pretty much everything about it. The way the competition was done, the production, the arrangements… everything lah. Previously watching to see if Fiqa makes it, now that she’s eliminated I have no other reason to watch the show anymore.

If Ringo wins (or don’t get eliminated soon), this show will lose all it’s credibility. Sorry to say that… not that she’s not attractive, she is, but just far from model quality compared to all the rest!! Again, she IS attractive. =)

Btw, dunno if u noticed, when you writing about Adeline u got a few grammer mistakes. You mix wif her too much adi! =p Wahahaahah…

  • 24. twinkie  |  April 12th, 2008 at 2:20 pm

oh, another thing. we’ve seen how fiqa never runs out of stuff to say about cindy, and that can get tiresome. sure, cindy might be what they say she is BUT cindy this, cindy that…

I won’t be surprised if she didn’t get enough votes cos of her endless rants about cindy…

Just for the record, I’m not defending Cindy, cos I don’t like her much too… *chuckles*

  • 25. i haTE hanis  |  April 12th, 2008 at 3:52 pm

whats the problem with hanis?don’t you all think that she is so fake of and on the camera?she thinks she can be good with everyone and act like an innocent 18 year old^whatever her age is^ because she looks like a grandmother to me…can stand all her faking..trying to act innocent..when she actually bitches..and with her stupid braces..OMG!!! kennysia is right! she can win with her lousy looks..I’LL LOSE HOPE IN MDG IF SHE STAY OR WINS!!so unfair..she SUCKS!!

  • 26. hoi gi  |  April 12th, 2008 at 4:32 pm

The thing about Ringo is - she plays safe. Yea too afraid of commiting another faux pas. But she’s very pretty.

    And Hanis is oh-so-sweet !

Well I think Jay really has what it takes to become a great model! she speaks well, great manners, broad shoulders and she’s nt pretentious at all! :D

  • 27. chariscrumbs  |  April 12th, 2008 at 4:34 pm

“it’s good to have some reference when Sazzy is doling out her judgment on each girl’s photo.”

The point is. Why is Sazzy judging, when she is supposed to be the host? And why are the judges playing the roles of teachers, instead of judging?

  • 28. Sheryl  |  April 12th, 2008 at 5:44 pm

I feel the same way too. I don’t even feel like blogging abt the show anymore because my favourite contestant Fiqa is no longer there! Being a vivid supporter of the show has no meaning anymore.

I WANT HER BACK.. Is it possible to have her back?

  • 29. jinx  |  April 12th, 2008 at 6:16 pm

I love Fiqa. She’s so original. this show sucks without her :’(
Next goes to Hanis, I want her to kick the other girls’ ass.

  • 30. alea  |  April 12th, 2008 at 6:33 pm

Jay and Hanis appeared quite alot on the runway of MIFA hor? and coincidentally the picture you took of Hanis is when she modeled for my friend’s clothing line

  • 31. alea  |  April 12th, 2008 at 6:37 pm

Jay and Hanis appeared quite alot on the runway of MIFA hor? and coincidentally the picture you took of Hanis is when she modeled for my friend’s clothing line :D
And Joanne was so gorgeous. She transformed so much from high school. Li Tim and i couldn’t even recognized her on the runway!!

  • 32. Pixie  |  April 12th, 2008 at 6:55 pm

I tink d final two will down to Ringo n one of the girls… Ringo’s blind fans are surely going 2 make sure dat their idol is winning the competition…. so i guess d battle is down to Ringo’s fans n us (who aren’t Ringo’s fans)

  • 33. Pixie  |  April 12th, 2008 at 6:59 pm

I like Jay!!! I’ll support her!!! She’s good in both photoshoot and catwalk… she has personality… she’s tall n her features are special, her high cheekbones n all. i disagree with d view dat she looks like a man. she looks like an attractive in her photoshoot in disguise as man, but she looks equally attractive n also feminine in all her other photoshoots…

  • 34. simplicityx  |  April 12th, 2008 at 7:56 pm

hehe i like hanis XD she’s sooooooooo cute! but i think jay is better as a model - none of hanis’ photos look fantastic actually. fiqa’s wella inspiration photo was really good! why was she voted out why why why T____________T seriously what is the point of having judges when they don’t appear to even judge =.=

  • 35. june  |  April 12th, 2008 at 8:34 pm

yes wtf are the judges for!! god its making me sick.

and why is cindy still on!! she should have left LONG ago. she cant catwalk and her pictures are terrible. sigh

  • 36. mIcheLLe  |  April 12th, 2008 at 8:37 pm

why is fiqa out!!! i have lost interest in the competition because the stronger contenders have all left hmph. T_T

  • 37. ladybird  |  April 12th, 2008 at 8:45 pm

I totally agree with you. Ringo is not outstanding enough during the photoshoot and she is using the power of blogging to gain some votes.

It’s time to wake up and vote for the right one….

  • 38. Irene  |  April 12th, 2008 at 9:13 pm

oh no, not fiqa!! of what little of the MDG episodes I do watch, i’ve always liked fiqa. she seemed really genuine and honest and just a lovely, lovely girl.

oh well, guess i’ll start supporting jay now.. not that it matters since i can’t vote (not living in msia).

i must agree about all the other comments about how the competition works. i think it’s unfair to eliminate the girls through public voting. the judges should really be the one doing that. why else are they the judges?

if they really want to use public votes, at least allow the public to see the final outcomes for each photoshoot. all we get to see is their personal life in the house and brief shots of their photoshoot sessions. personality is important, but this is a MODEL search. someone with the best personality may not have the best modelling talent. the public should be able to see the photos from the photoshoots BEFORE voting, not after. it’s just so pointless.

as for the judges.. what’s their role in this really? i thought they would have a much bigger role. i enjoy kennysia’s blog, but i’m not sure if he makes much of a judge. he does represent the everyman, but not so much of the fashion industry, which is ultimately, what the winner will be working in.

i love ringo’s blog, but like others, i just find her too quiet on the show. she doesn’t stand out as much as the others. i still believe she deserves a chance in the competition though. despite being short, she does have consistently good photos, and she knows what kind of clothing/fashion suits her best. i just think she needs to allow that bubbly online personality of hers pop out on the show. as much as i like her, it’s probably true that the reason she hasn’t been eliminated is because of her blogging fans.

haha sorry for the long comment. i just need to express my opinions as none of my friends over here in nz watches the show.

  • 39. Steffie  |  April 12th, 2008 at 9:58 pm

Oh mannnnnnnnn :( I think Fiqa did really well in the Wella photoshoot :( :( :( And I think the only reason Cindy’s still in is because her oh-so-rich family’s voting for her. Not that I’m biased or anything, but her photos are really bad

  • 40. sulin  |  April 12th, 2008 at 10:15 pm

i was rooting for fiqa… i really loved her personality..
and i thought her photoshoot pics came out nice.. especially the wella one..
    GAH!! i still can’t believe she’s out!!! T__T
seeing that she’s already out, now i’m rooting for Jay..
i must say though, this has become more of a popularity contest.. *sigh*

  • 41. Lisa  |  April 12th, 2008 at 11:04 pm

haha..was cute to see u in the recent episode of dreamgirls
    but y are u dressed so formal-lah?

im gonna vote for Hanis :)
    shes soooo sweett :P

  • 42. thegeekinpink  |  April 12th, 2008 at 11:11 pm

i love jay and hanis. hanis is such a best-friend kinda girl… bring home to grandparents. jay is fierceeeee, she reminds me of that season 4 project runway christian.

as for ringo, I totally agree with what you said. She needs to start outshining the other girls to convince us she’s not just there because of her giant group of voters. still, she must be going through a hard time now with people rounding up on her with such harsh comments.

  • 43. folle  |  April 13th, 2008 at 12:37 am

oh dear.. fiqa is out.. T__T is there anyway i can do petition for fiqa to come back to the show again?
jay is definitely the real model material, hanis is my dreamgirl.. the rest i dun-remember-who. -_-

  • 44. Irene  |  April 13th, 2008 at 1:34 am

Agree with #27, Sazzy should stop judging and focus on being a HOST, and she’s doing quite a bad job in both.

  • 45. hui wen  |  April 13th, 2008 at 1:43 am

HOW CAN THEY LET FIQA GO OUT OF THE SHOW!!!! HOW HOW HOW LIKE THAT. The show has no more meaning already. T___T

And YES, I have no idea why the judges don’t judge at all, it’s just infuriating to see the competition dwindle into a popularity contest! Actually, not even a popularity contest, ’cause apparently there are people who are voting to keep cindy in to spite cindy-haters (read this from the comments on her blog) o_O They should base it on like 50% of public votes, and 50% of judges’ scores or something like that; if not, where is the credibility in the show!!!

And eh, seriously, is there anyway to petition for them to bring Fiqa back in.. T___T

  • 46. kari  |  April 13th, 2008 at 1:57 am

It’s quite easy to see who the fashion bigwigs think are the girls with “real model” potential — basically hanis and jay.

And Hanis and Jay, really, are the best of the lot. Their most recent photoshoot also screams this idea.

In the right order, from best to worst:

    Hanis
    Jay
    Cindy
    Nadia
    Adeline
    Ringo

Cindy’s better than Nadia, at least in my honest opinion. No matter how much Nadia seems to be trying, her recent pictures have all turned out looking exactly the same. And while I used to think she was sexy, I’ve recently found her to be quite unattractive and uses the “pout” waaay too much.

Ringo.. well. I think she’s a really sweet girl, but she’s really not model material! If this show was “Malaysian Sweethearts” , it’ll be a different story.

  • 47. kari  |  April 13th, 2008 at 1:59 am

ooh. that said, I still think Nadia has the best body!

  • 48. HK  |  April 13th, 2008 at 2:04 am

Fiqa was.. the bomb. It’s settled, Malaysians are mostly blind or impartial to being blind,

So now all I’ve got are Jay, and Nadia. Come on who else doesn’t display attitude and set standards like them both. Hanis just doesn’t cut it. She’s real good but no way near Jay.

Come on don’t disappoint me like Malaysian Idol!

  • 49. go hanis!  |  April 13th, 2008 at 2:13 am

couldnt agree more with what kari said. i really hope the final two is down to hanis and jay - those are the only 2 deserving ones left in the run for the mdg crown. both of them look absolutely stunning and breathtaking in the MIFA show. fiqa could be one, but sadly she had to leave.

even if either hanis or jay doesnt win the mdg title, due to some blind bimbotic votes dedicated to the most undeserving person, (needless to say, with the least modeling potential), we know who we can ACTUALLY expect to see to make it big in future MIFA shows and other modeling gigs as the fashion bigwigs know better

in this competition, the winner is not necessarily the winner, the loser is not necessarily the loser, thanks to the screwed-up sms voting system that retain the undeserving girls in the dreamhouse.

  • 50. czhe  |  April 13th, 2008 at 2:13 am

You are photogenic Su Ann…. you have the quality to be in dreamgirls’ position. Too bad that you’re unable t participate. If not i will surely vote for you….. ^^

As for now, i will choose Cindy.

  • 51. steven lee  |  April 13th, 2008 at 3:11 am

arhhhhhh pinkpau ! you should’ve joined instead of writing as the official blog/write/etc.

with your experience (of taking pics) i’m sure it’d been fun and exciting!

  • 52. anonymous  |  April 13th, 2008 at 3:54 am

    C is for chicken…LOL

  • 53. brian  |  April 13th, 2008 at 4:51 am

honestly, if I were to show this to my ang moh friends, I would want Jay to be the winner, or at least be in the final 3. She speaks well, carries herself professionally and struts her stuff amazingly.

I also agree with your point about the judges having to have more say in the contestants in addition to being great teachers. I wonder what Kenny Sia will be teaching them about though ;)

Lastly, the show’s improved but there’s definitely room for improvement, good luck to the production crew!

  • 54. george  |  April 13th, 2008 at 6:12 am

    cindy…mmmm :p
doubt she’s gonna win it with so much hate for her, but damn- she’s smoking hot!

  • 55. sha  |  April 13th, 2008 at 6:49 am

    vote for hanis!!!

  • 56. baby badawi  |  April 13th, 2008 at 8:16 am

i havent even read your blog but i know you’re a dreamgirl. btw will you ever suffer burn out god forbid. if you do you know who to call =)

  • 57. cc  |  April 13th, 2008 at 8:23 am

yea i totally don’t understand why the judges don’t judge… do they even look at the photoshoots every week?

i think since MDG is already kind of copying ANTM’s concept, why don’t they just ‘copy’ everything? just my 2 cents…

  • 58. Michelle  |  April 13th, 2008 at 9:49 am

Hello, Su Ann. Kevin Low led me here :).

  • 59. Yappy  |  April 13th, 2008 at 11:39 am

That last photo of you with the dreamgirls, you seriously look like a dreamgirl yourself. :) I’m abit blur about the show since I’m not in malaysia and the only way I know this show exist is from your blog. Yes, I strongly agree with you that the role of the judges are very important. Their comments will help the viewers make informed choices.
I’m following So You Think You Can Dance in Australia now and the judges for the show do a tremendous job in helping ordinary viewers like me who have no clue about dancing to appreciate the finer aspects of it. What appears on tv to be a simple flip is actually very challenging and without the judges to pinpoint that, I would have blindly commented that it was a lacklustre routine.
So yes, we should urge the judges to play a bigger role in MDG so that the voters know what is really going on.

  • 60. sieutheng  |  April 13th, 2008 at 12:06 pm

remember i said u should be in this competition? well thank god u din go for it..cos its total crap. phew.

  • 61. Pixie  |  April 13th, 2008 at 7:07 pm

Of the Savanh Too photoshoot, only hanis n jay produced good pictures, d rest… *speechless*

  • 62. Evelyncyl  |  April 13th, 2008 at 8:14 pm

I just watched epsd 12. I think Hanis look GREAT on thew runway! Jay was good too… but Hanis was the unexpected one who blew me away.

  • 63. i cant make it to kl freeze because i was stuck in sg buloh  |  April 13th, 2008 at 9:35 pm

er, can we vote sazzy falak out of the whole thing? she’s such a bore.

on another hand, right hand preferably, i dont think any of the remaining contestant are good enough to be a runaway model? except for jay, perhaps. but others are just… pbbhhht.

  • 64. yingxian  |  April 13th, 2008 at 9:40 pm

    my two cents,
I think HANIS and JAY are fabulous!
Nadia has a great, no wait, scratch that, AMAZING body, but her pictures… arent all that great… unfortunately.
Nadia shows that she really wants it, and she actually studies the stage and all. but somehow, Nadia reminds me of MELROSE from ANANTM. sorta.
Hanis has the looks of a model, and she seems to have grown alot from the start of the show til now.
Jay… carries herself the best. She’s great. She’s really mature and seems easy to get along with. good qualities for a model.

  • 65. yingxian  |  April 13th, 2008 at 9:43 pm

    oops. typo. *ANTM. hahaha.

btw, I love Hanis’ look. Her pictures in my opinion were always nice! :) Jay varies from time to time. Maybe its just me, but I adore Hanis’ look… as a model.

  • 66. Anonymous no. 2  |  April 13th, 2008 at 9:53 pm

Heyyyy guys~ IVE READ ALL your RAVISHING COMMENTS ABOUT RINGO. LOL~
WEll, basically im commenting here bcuz i was BAN FROM “LALALAND.com” for making some negative comments about the so call “bimbo aka LALA”
U GUYS are ABSOLUTELY right! If she ever become MALAYSIAN DREAM GIRL… GEE.. its such a disgrace for us Malaysian girls.. i think next time i might need to put a plastic bag over my head when i go out…
In my perspective, the only reason why RINGO is back on TOP 12 is because of the Marketing Scheme of the PRoduction Team, after all, this is an online reality show.. wutz a better marketing tool than to have a blogger inside with gazillion no. of fans.. who has no other life than waiting for the newest episode by the comp every single day??

  • 67. cookie  |  April 13th, 2008 at 10:04 pm

Anonymous no. 2.. I think u have really great analyzing skills!!

It’s so obvious that the reason why Ringo was brought back because its the very first MDG show, and producers are obviously afraid that there will not be enough people oogling over their laptop to watch their oh-so-great-idol!!

Honestly, i don’t see anything in Ringo that is worth being look up too. She’s short, not pretty (refraining myself from using the word “fugly”), bimbo, pretencious, hypocrite!!

Just because she has a famous blog (i dun even know why), all her blinded “fans” are so crazy over her “funny” post.. And thus, they are down on their knees praying her like a god.. OMG.. What is wrong with Msians.. To call myself a Msian, i feel so ashame of it!!

As for Adeline, i dun understand why she can make it so far!! To say that Ringo has no quality in her (ok, maybe she’s “cute” and ppl like it.. Bimbo fans).. But Adeline.. She looks so stoned and blur in and out of photoshoots.. Except for the fact that she’s tall.. I really don’t see what’s so great about her.. She look just like any other girls u can c in Sg Wang… I really wonder why she gets so many votes every week.. Is Sg Wang promoting her?? I won’t know.. I’m not in Msia..

  • 68. Pixie  |  April 14th, 2008 at 2:19 am

Jay for our first Malaysian Dream Girl!!! who is with me?? =)

  • 69. Iz  |  April 14th, 2008 at 11:10 am

    I want Fiqa backkkk

  • 70. iamdoryfish  |  April 14th, 2008 at 11:18 am

Pink Pau, I am real disappointed as well. Fiqa’s Wella inspiration photoshoot took my breathe away! but she is elminated out! :(
Now, I hv to consider about Jay and Hanis.

  • 71. TheRealAnonymous  |  April 14th, 2008 at 1:04 pm

Eh… wth… why ur newest post taken down?

  • 72. i wonder  |  April 14th, 2008 at 4:29 pm

why issit that everyone likes Fiqa, but no one voted for her??

  • 73. Simon Seow  |  April 14th, 2008 at 4:48 pm

Already voted for Ringo. Who’s Joanne?

  • 74. kreazi  |  April 14th, 2008 at 5:28 pm

Out of the 7 girls, I’m all in for Fiqa and Hanis. Then I didn’t get to vote coz I was away for the whole week. When I came back, Fiqa was voted out and damn~ Should have find a way to sms back to Msia then! This week must must must vote for Hanis. Don’t want the sme mistake to repeat!

  • 75. wen  |  April 14th, 2008 at 5:34 pm

sorry… this is not a comment but a question to u… pink pau, do u know any nice website to download free audio books? i think u might know… hehee…

  • 76. okthxbai  |  April 14th, 2008 at 6:56 pm

sighhh all this malaysian dreamgirl controversy. i shall remain neutral :) anyhoo, pinkpau, you should have gone for mdg! you would win, hands down. go go if there’s a second season :D oh and you went for MIFA with bbq? what say he about cheeserland, what say he :P

  • 77. pinkshirtz  |  April 14th, 2008 at 8:48 pm

    i wanna be you ….

  • 78. insider  |  April 15th, 2008 at 2:26 am

okthxbai : it is pretty obvious that bbq and cheesie had a fallout over how he managed her blog. plus some personal issues involved. ’nuff said

  • 79. dolly  |  April 15th, 2008 at 3:51 pm

o cum on, hanis and fiqa is so fake in front of the camera ok, commenting about how cindy is a attention whore but look who’s tokkin? who backstab mor on and/or off camera, askin da camera to b focus on dem, etc? yiks, undeniable both of dem look stunning but attitude wise i jz couldnt agree wif da majority. i reckon jay deserve to win tiz competition as she has da complete package. hanis and nadia has chances too..

  • 80. Cluppy  |  April 16th, 2008 at 12:36 pm

its really unfair that Fiqa is out genuinely base on just sms votes. What the judges for anyway? Host commenting on every single shot they took instead of the THREE judges. And somehow i felt sazzy is out of words at time. she keep repeating the same sentence on and on. “i think its a great picture, but you can do better’ argg.. wtf.

and now fiqa’s out, practically there’s no reason for me to watch anymore.

  • 81. real  |  April 17th, 2008 at 9:02 pm

    even blogger not supporting blogger.
I thought u are personally quite close wif ringo?
u are truly a good friend. “real” good friend.
i bet she will be really sad when she sees what u wrote about her. but u can juz stop “pretending” to be nice in front of her in future right?erm…even Sweat…cannot even remember her name?? wow, a bunch of good friends.
Anyway SA, hope you got what you want.

  • 82. Jay for MDG!  |  April 18th, 2008 at 7:55 am

Jay For MDG!!! how come nobody vote for Jay despite so many ppl agreed that Jay deserves to win!!! It’s time to wake up guys!!!! Jay was in the bottom three for so many times in these show and she was nearly eliminated in the new episode!!!! Please vote for Jay!!! Seriously…since the vote was accumulated, Jay has the lowest votes, thus there must be many votes that goes in to make her into top 3! Jay is going to leave the show next week if nobody take any action!

  • 83. francis  |  April 18th, 2008 at 2:24 pm

Cindy will definitely be one of the top 3 finalists next week as her papa will do his best, maybe spend several thousand bucks on votes, to get her there & spend several thousand bucks more to try to get her crowned as winner…ha!ha!

  • 84. Jay for MDG!  |  April 18th, 2008 at 5:57 pm

Jay will leave the show next week if nobody votes for her! So many people say that Jay has potential but never take action to vote… Sigh.. Im disappointed…

  • 85. Jay for MDG!  |  April 18th, 2008 at 8:16 pm

Everybody, I posted this comment in Ringo’s blog too… to raise awareness among non-Ringo fans who so happen to visit her blog…

‘Jay For MDG!!! how come nobody vote for Jay despite so many ppl agreed that Jay deserves to win!!! Jay is going to leave the show next week if nobody take any action!’

    guess what, it’s awaiting MODERaTION… WTH… what r u trying 2 do, ringo?

  • 86. heh  |  April 19th, 2008 at 1:30 am

    francis:
isnt it ironic? spend thousands of RM for SMS, then get a ambank check that is worth as much back (if she wins). it is as if she doesnt have any net gain of $$ at all

but OH, we forget the car…. lol

  • 87. crazieapple  |  April 19th, 2008 at 9:49 pm

Episode 14 part 1.. I cant believe that Ringo said she was “surprised” that she has never been in the bottom 3.. She only has her mum.. But everyone else has their entire family tree supporting the other contestants.. She’s “really surprise” and grateful for those who voted for her..

Hello?!??! As if she doesn’t know she has an entire troop of lala supporters who hog her blog every single second, wasting their every single cent voting for her so that malaysia’s first dreamgirl is indeed a nightmare!!!

  • 88. ZOMG  |  April 19th, 2008 at 10:55 pm

crazieapple: hahhha, i know!!!! i was in complete disbelief when i heard her saying everything she said WITH A STRAIGHT FACE. Indeed, very “surprised” and “relieved”. somemore act as if she has not a single inkling that her fans at her blog are voting for her

i was like WTF??!?!?! cant really believe some ppl could pretend to that extent.

she’s such a goddamn professional faker.

  • 89. goldy  |  April 19th, 2008 at 11:18 pm

she acts as if she is really clueless about her source of votes.

she din even acknowledge that her fans spend so much money to support her so that she can win the MDG title… utter hypocrisy

  • 90. carol  |  April 20th, 2008 at 8:43 am

by including that clip of her in episode 14 1, the organizers hope that she will receive fewer votes, i guess

  • 91. jenny sm  |  April 20th, 2008 at 1:38 pm

I watched Episode 14 part One a couple of times and Ringo actually said “thank you” to whoever voted for her.

  • 92. kelley  |  April 20th, 2008 at 1:53 pm

yes, got say ‘thank you’, but does she need to feign the surprise and relief? not only that, pull the lack-of-extended-family-support card?

how come the whole world can be aware of where the primary source of her votes come from except herself? is she really that oblivious? -_-

considering she is aware that 1) she has self-promoting entries on her blog with help from mr bbq since early march, 2) she read the entries and comments periodically using the limited internet time at dreamhouse.

no need to buat bodoh to that extent right?

*reallly fear for her safety next time when she doesnt even know that her office building is on fire while all her co-workers in the building have long evacuated

  • 93. kelley  |  April 20th, 2008 at 2:00 pm

ringo really thinks that everyone out there has her level of intelligence and wouldnt see through her

kinda starting to feel sorry for her

  • 94. carmen  |  April 20th, 2008 at 3:58 pm

fiqa was my favourite too! and now she’s gone =(

i’m currently rooting for jay and hanis =)

  • 95. Smokin' Aces  |  April 20th, 2008 at 8:17 pm

Thank everyone for voting for her… thats the defense they are using at the moment… absurd… every girl says that…

Hanis has never been in the bottom three either… i hope she gets it… but i’m voting for Jay… she has the complete package… her batik shoot wasn’t too good though… probably frustration that no matter what she does Cindy and Ringo are goig to top her… unfairly at that….

the depending on wholely on SMS was a bad idea… i know generates income and all that… but still there are some major errors made by the production team….

Su Ann.. don’t the official bloggers have any say on how things are run???
