Pulau Perhentian And The Bunch Of Us
June 27th, 2008
i’ve just come home from Pulau Perhentian, still sticky from a glorious 4 days of swimming in clear sparkling sea and lazing around in the sand doing absolutely nothing.
by the end of the first day, we were already wondering what the hell we could do for the remaining days in order to pass time, but everything just fell into place really nicely. we went snorkeling and banana boating, built random stuff in the sand, played Truth or Dare and Heart Attack, played stupid games like Johnny Whoops and Open Close Open Close, got lost in a forest at sundown (seriously.. i should dedicate a whole post to what happened), endlessly and relentlessly made fun of Freddy’s stomach and Justin’s puking, dug a big hole and buried ourselves in it, and many other random things. the crevices in between were filled with lots of cat-napping in the sun and gossiping over ice cream. nice :)

#9 us heading out for some snorkeling.. lots of funny snorkeling stories!!! one day i must share them :D

#11 HAHA THIS IS JUSTIN AFTER HE PUKED. hahahaha. Jus is very cute wan – he pukes all the time on trips. the last time there was a trip to Penang, he puked mid-air while parasailing. so now not only has he puked in air, he has also puked in the water. one day we wanna bring him on a roller coaster so that he’ll puke on land, too!

#13 if you’ve been following my Plurks over there on the sidebar, you’d know that we found a watchtower and started hurling ourselves off it. this is Jin taking the first plunge!

#19 i dont really know why boys always start building stuff the moment they hit the sand. this is them building Mesopotamia

#21 we took a boat from Perhentian Besar (where we stayed) to Long Beach, which is on Perhentian Kecil. Long Beach is soooo much nicer than our beach, with a lot more eye candy too! nicer food as well. this is us sitting in this really massive hole that we chose to dig for no apparent reason

#24 then we went banana boating, where the banana boat gets towed really quickly by a speedboat that takes sharp turns in attempts to throw us off the banana and into the water
#25 this was when we already took one very painful fall into the water where someone’s fingernails cut Freddy’s leg, Ben got water-whiplash and the rest of us were smarting all over from the impact. haha! le ouchness
#26 Darren captured us mid-splash! but got my camera wet =( i fear for its health =( but at least we got a nice picture!
#27 after getting tired of making one too many sand penises and sand breasts, the boys decided to build the Pyramids of Giza
#28 that’s my arm playing Open Close Open Close and everyone else looking confused while trying to figure out the game!!! HAHAHA! Open Close is this game where you have to guess if i’m showing you an Open or a Close. only the truly intelligent will be able to guess!!!

#32 and this is where we spent 4 whole days of fun and bonding :)
i’ve only been back home a few hours and i already wanna go back to Perhentian. the air in this life is so filled with manners, politicking and to-do’s… but in Perhentian, we had the most refreshing time of salty sea breeze, jokes, laughter, story-sharing and camaraderie. sharing masturbatory confessionals (oh yes we did!) in Truth penalties over a game of Heart Attack was so much fun! so was gossiping late into the night and digging that huge hole.
but absolutely nothing can top the time we accidentally entered and got lost in the jungle while searching for this specific beach to watch the sunset. tell you guys about it in the next post :) it is the best Perhentian experience ever!

wow… am glad to see you had fun. the last time i went to redang, i expected so much more, but it wasn’t as good as i’d expected it to be. wrong timing and wrong company maybe… well, will make it a point to go perhentian someday! and pau can i have that picture of us? the one i have is blurry lah :(

Aihh…totally reminds me of my Langkawi trip 3 years ago, it was pretty similar hahah, definitely one of the best trips I’ve ever had with a bunch of frens..
Too bad it’ll be hard to emulate that again…stupid work that we all have now along with bf gf commitments… have as many trips like this as u can before it’s too late!

yay perhentian! i was at cocohut too ! went there 3 weeks back =D u noe near the newly built jetty at perhentian besar (the cement one) theres this chalet called abdul’s chalet that has the best snicream milkshake everrrrr cheap too =D~~

and btw i know the open close open close game too! next time i teach you more of these mind-boggling time-passing people-infuriating games ok! heehee. ever heard of the “black magic” game, the “rainbow magic”, the falling keys, and the betul salah betul salah? haha… all go by the basic principle. last year when i was staying in an apartment with 6 other coursemates, we had one whole night of these kinda games, pure kiddish fun!

ljy : it was really cool because the beauty and the beast is such a big part of my childhood :) i thought it could have been better in many aspects; for instance i didnt like how they sissy-fied the beast, plus there was this massive technical error where they had to stop the show for 5 minutes.. but overall, i loved it :)
